I did not make any other changes to my routine. I add 2-3 drops of argan oil to my regular daily retinol face lotion and about 6-8 drops in with my body butter.

Like magic, my chronic dry, painful winter skin that I have struggled with for years is completely cured, soft, and healthy. Even my fine lines seem to have shown improvement. I am blown away.

I saved about $32 dollars on my face lotion and about $28 on the body butter (compared to the pricing of the Josie Maran argan oil line sold at Ulta).

Hair

I bleach my hair (myself, more on that later) and it really craves hydration. I have not been thrilled with the health of my hair for months, but I do feel that the argan oil is helping to improve things. I add about 8 drops of it to my normal hair conditioner, leave it on for about 3 minutes, and rinse with warm water. I will also rub 3-4 drops between my palms and applied directly to the middle and ends of my hair.

My hair is not completely cured, but when I started it was pretty damaged. I do feel the argan oil has helped more than a number of other conditioning masks and leave-in treatments I have tried including Its a 10 and keratin treatments.

I would imagine that argan oil would make hair that is already reasonably healthy incredibly soft and shiny.

I saved about $28 on the hair conditioning treatment and about $22 on the hair serum (compared to Lustea, Josie Maran, and other brands found at Ulta).

Nails

A few months ago, I had a nail technician completely hack up my previously strong, long, healthy natural nails during gel polish removal. My nails have been paper-thin since. I’ve had to keep them so short because any length I could grow would be susceptible to bending completely backward or ripping down the nail bed. Awful.

I usually do my nails myself at home but I had taken my daughter out for a special mother-daughter afternoon of pampering. Lesson learned I will always remove my own gel polish prior to stepping foot inside a nail salon.

I digress.

The argan oil has been helpful to improve the strength of my nails themselves, but I also use the hard as hoof lotion which I accredit most of the improvement to. Mostly, I feel that the argan oil has been wonderful for my cuticle care and with very little maintenance other than using the oil, my cuticles look great mid-December in New England.

I saved $21 by avoiding buying a fancy cuticle oil (compared to corporels brand).

Overall, I saved about $130 in beauty products for hair, skin, and nails and cured many of the winter conditions I was unhappy with from head to toe! My personal routine has been simplified and improved – yes!

If you’d like to try the same argan oil I have, you can find it on Amazon here. Also, the hard as hoof nail strengthing cream can be found here.

Of course, beauty always comes from within and I truly believe and embrace that, but a little argan oil goes a long way too ;).

How I saved about $130 by adding this gem to my beauty routine Call it a beauty routine, self-care, self-love, whatever floats your boat …Read More

How I saved about $130 by adding this gem to my beauty routine Call it a beauty routine, self-care, self-love, whatever floats your boat but I am always looking for ways to simplify my personal routine at the lowest cost possible way.
